Voronezh State Medical University was established in 1918 as a medical faculty of Voronezh State University, marking the beginning of one of Russia’s oldest and most respected medical institutions.
In 1930, the medical faculty became an independent institution known as Voronezh Medical Institute. Over the decades, the university expanded its academic programs, research capabilities, and clinical training facilities, contributing significantly to the development of medical education and healthcare in Russia.
In 1994, the institute was granted academy status, reflecting its academic excellence and growing reputation. Later, in 2015, it was officially renamed Voronezh State Medical University, further strengthening its position as a leading center for medical education and scientific research.
Today, the university is recognized for its modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and commitment to training highly qualified medical professionals, attracting thousands of international students from around the world.
